Printer in Lab
A long time issue has been staff/students printing sent to the computer lab and not claimed.  The worst part is the paper that is being wasted, usually someone else’s paper.  Please remember that before you or a student print, you know what printer it is going to and you use your paper for printing.

Volunteers
All volunteers must have a current PSD volunteer application on file that has been processed BEFORE they can volunteer in any capacity.  If you have a need for a volunteer, please contact Barb to get it arranged or just to make sure the person you want is approved.  Lists are sent out periodically.

Contacts in Email
Reminder, in the event of a Lockdown, an email to all office (Collette Stewart, Barb Schmitten, Robyn Buck) staff is required.  You might consider setting up a Contact in your email called Lockdown and add the above to the list.  If you need help with setting this up, let Barb know.

Operation Suds is a self-administered interactive program that was developed to help educators teach children about the need for hand washing. The program is designed for children grades K through 6 and all necessary materials are available for check out to local residents through the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
The program consists of a brief discussion about the importance of hand washing, a short animated video and a special blacklight activity designed to test each student's hand washing ability. Additionally, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department can provide hand washing related materials for educators to help reinforce the message in the classroom.
By participating in Operation Suds students will learn about:
  • What germs are
  • Where germs hide
  • When to wash hands
  • How to wash hands
The program takes approximately 45 minutes per class to complete depending on the size of each group.
