Picture Day
We will be having pictures throughout the day on Tuesday, Oct. 4 in the MPR, so lunch will be in your room.  They will start taking staff photos around 8:00.

Activities
Every day parents call the office to find out about activities that are happening in your classroom during the day or after school.  Please make sure to keep the office informed by providing us a copy of what you are sending home with your students.  In addition, a list of names for the students that are participating in each activity is needed so we can report our activities accurately and on time.

Tardies
Thank you for your support during our transition to using the Tardy tickets.  Please remember that we will reuse the tickets and they need to be brought/sent to the office.

Back Office
The office located behind the Office Manager desk is now fully equipped with a working telephone and computer.  If you find that you need a quiet space to get some work done, check it out.  Please note the sign on the door is green if available and bright pink if in use. 

Book Orders
If you utilize book orders, please be advised of the following: (posted on y drive under book orders)

à        Fill out RECEIPT RECONCILIATION FORM (with complete information.  Be sure to indicate student name, amount, whether cash or check, and receipt number.  Remember that every person (student and/or adult) who orders books must have a receipt written to them, even if the order is only for 10 cents. 

à        Total form and give to Barb along with money, book order and mailing envelope.  Be sure you have phoned in the order.

à        BOOK ORDERS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED BEFORE MONDAY the 3rd Monday of the school year due to heavy workload in office.

à        THE FINAL DAY TO TURN IN MONEY AND BOOK ORDERS IN THE SPRING WILL BE 2nd Monday in May.

Translator
If you still need a translator for conferences, please make sure to let the office know as we need to reserve 10 days in advance.

Reminder
There are field renovations that began today, 9/29/11 at Kalles.  As a result, they will be using our field starting today until the season is out.  It will be about 35 students who will be walking with their coaches.  Arrival time may be between 3:00 and 3:15.  They are aware that are school is officially in session until 3:16 and will be respectful of that.

Fire Drill Review – We had a beautiful day to practice our first drill.  Our time for the drill was 5 min 19 sec.  Please remember to have a system in place and review it so all classroom doors are closed when evacuating.

Reminders
à         Please provide Laura the name of your 2 classroom parent volunteers.  (Have they completed the annual volunteer form, been approved and trained?)

à         Conference Schedules for the office.

à         Please notify the office if you are leaving the building.

Housekeeping – We are still missing several Staff Emergency Cards, so please complete and bring to the office.  In addition, we have lots of students that have not turned in their Enrollment Verification Form and/or Emergency Dismissal Procedures.  Please check backpacks.  A list will be coming, soon.

Conference Schedules
Please remember to send a copy of your conference schedule to the office so we can be ready when parents call to find out their time and/or not interrupt you while conferencing.

Take a peek to make sure that you have your red and green cards and know where your backpack is located for our drill.

Spanish Informational Night
Invitations have been sent home for our Spanish Informational Night.  Please return them to the office as soon as you receive them.

Notes and stuff
Please remember to let the office know of activities that are happening so we may provide information to parents when they ask.  Also, please send any notes/emails pertaining to students to the office as soon as possible.

Fair tickets will be in your box today.  Please remind students that we do not replace them if they are lost and that Wednesday morning is not Fair Day, they need to come to school.
