Lost and Found
The lost and found bin is being moved temporarily to the front foyer for easy access by parents.  Please remind parents when they come for conferences to check for lost items.

Special Activities
Please remember to include the office on your distribution list when you send out an invite or information about activities that are happening during the school day or after school.  We love to be prepared when parents call to ask questions about these activities.

Field Trips
Please remember that paperwork for field trips had a deadline and now needs to be turned in immediately.  April is here and there are several steps to making sure needs for field trips are met.  Please plan ahead.

Staff Lounge
We had about 24 days without dirty dishes/utensils left in the sink.  Unfortunately, they started getting left again.  Please remember to clean up any dishes that you use and clean up the microwave after use.  Also, please return forks that are being used outside of the lounge.

What's happening this week...

A company or a team needs to be constantly rejuvenated by the infusion of young blood.  It needs young people with the imagination and the guts to turn everything upside down if they can. It also needs old fogies to keep them from turning upside down those things that ought to be right side up.  Above all, it needs young rebels and old conservatives, who can work together, challenge each other’s values, yield or hold fast with equal grace, and continue after each hard-fought battle to respect each other.

March Gladness Updates

Pennies for Patients
Update coming soon…starts with an assembly on Friday and will run all next week.  All donations benefit the Lymphoma Society.

Spring Into Action
Friday we will wrap up with the Goodwill people coming on Monday/Tuesday to pick up donations.  Please provide the office with your need for pizza coupons, only given to those that participated.

Conferences
Please make sure to provide the office with your conference schedule.  Also, don’t forget we need at least 10 days’ notice to arrange a translator.

Nurse’s office
Please remember to have your student rest their head on their desk for 10 minutes prior to sending to the office unless they are throwing up or bleeding. We have seen a huge increase of traffic in the nurse’s office upon return from recess.  Please remind students that if they could continue to play with an injury, they shouldn’t need to visit the nurse when it’s time to come inside

March 30th – LIC Day
On March 30th, schools will follow their regular “late start/early release “Wed schedule.  Teachers are to work their regular day, doing individual planning.  Classified staff works their regular “Wed” schedule.

Take Your Child to Work Day—April 26th
This day is designed to help students between the ages of 8 and 15 make the connection between what they do in school and what career they may choose in the future. The day should be designed to introduce students to the world of a parent’s career and the wide array of skills and services needed to support it. Students should have a written excuse stating that they were participating at the parent’s workplace in order to have their absence excused. We will include a permission slip in our next two newsletters.  Due to the state testing window falling on that day, we will make every effort to avoid this day being a disruption to the educational environment.

Due to the need to maintain confidentiality and to allow staff to focus on their duties, I would discourage staff from bringing their children to school on that day.  If staff would like to discuss this with me, please see Laura.
