Field Day (Notes from Mrs. King)
Morning SupervisorsCrossing, Bus and Blacktop:
If you observe a student arriving to school in clothing that does not fit our dress code, please ask them to go the office right away
Parents who arrive with their students must check in at the guest table in the front foyer.

Teachers:
Please take attendance and lunch count as usual
First thing, please check that all students are following dress code – send any students with inappropriate attire to the office a.s.a.p.
Parent volunteers may arrive early.  All parent volunteers must check in at the table that will be stationed in the front foyer.  They will be given a label to wear that identifies them as a field day volunteer and then directed to the classroom.
Please reinforce to your students the expectations for the day.
The BBQ’s will be set up under the playshed, so please stress to students that they are not to go near this area.
As soon as you have taken attendance, lunch count and reviewed expectations, teachers are to walk their students to the MPR and have them sit in their normal spot as in assemblies. Laura (or a designee) will greet the students and immediately excuse one class at a time to get their hands stamped for lunch.  Cold lunchers will be dismissed through a hall exit.  Students getting stamped will walk out the door behind the lunch server’s computer.  As kids are getting stamped, the other will quietly listen to Laura who will be “chatting” with the kids about the day.  As one class is close to being done getting stamped, another class will be sent to line up.  We will start with the younger students first.
Once students are settled in the MPR, teachers should go outside to be at their station so they are there BEFORE kids arrive.  Parent volunteers should be to the stations as well, or for younger students (grade K/1… they can stay with students to take them out.)

Staff
Thank you for staying at your assigned station.  Carefully monitor kids not only at your station but their behavior coming and going.  Safe and respectful behavior is a priority.
There will be a first aid station set up outside.  This will be for the very minor needs that can be met with TLC and a band aide.   Anything more serious should be sent to the health room.
At 11:00 field day will officially end with students being dismissed to classes starting with K, then 1st, etc…  All students are to return to their classrooms at that time.
Parents who would like to take kids home at that time are to check them out through the office.
Lunch will be served under the playshed.  Teachers are to bring them outside to be served.
Classes will have the discretion of eating in their classroom or outside.  There will be no lunches in the MPR.  Please notify the office as to where you will be eating.

BBQ

The BBQ’s will be set up under the playshed, so please stress to students that they are not to go near this area.
